Competitive Weightlifting (Olympic & Power lifting)
The Gem’s competitive youth Olympic and powerlifting program (10-17 years old) places a strong emphasis on mastering proper lifting technique, safety, and long-term athletic development. Athletes are coached through the fundamentals of the Snatch, Power Clean, Clean and Jerk, Squat, Bench press, and Deadlift, learning precision, body control, and disciplined movement patterns that set the foundation for lifelong strength training. Our lifters, led by USA Weightlifting certified coaches, prepare for and compete in sanctioned state, regional, and national tournaments—giving youth the opportunity to challenge themselves, earn rankings, and represent their community on major platforms. To promote whole-body wellness, we offer nutritious protein shakes and partner with ImpactLA to provide free, healthy meals for members.
